hnup.date takes the top 5 posts from the front page of Hacker News and turns it into a news broadcast.

During an extended gym session, I heard the hourly news update on a radio broadcast that was playing over the gym’s speakers. Somehow it caught my attention. I enjoyed having this little update delivered to me in a hands-free way. Maybe it’s because I don’t listen to podcasts these days, or maybe it evoked a certain nostalgia of getting the news delivered to you at set intervals, instead of on-demand - I found a new appreciation for aural delivery of information.
I happened to still be at the gym at the next hour, and I had to listen to basically the same broadcast again, half of which was actually irrelevant to me and the other half not exactly lifting (heh) up the mood. That’s when I thought that it would be nice to have a personalized hourly update.
